CLASS 1 DAY DRIVER
The Best Connection are an Employment Business advertising on behalf of our client.
We require an experienced Class 1 driver for our client who operate from their depot on the Goole docks and transport steel products and timber using either flat bed or curtain sider trailers – with some steel shipments, chaining, roping and sheeting is required so drivers need to be reasonably fit for this. Sheet placement is usually done by forklift truck to assist the driver and the driver does not get on the trailer for health & safety reasons.
The work is holiday cover– an early morning start is required (about 05.00) Monday to Friday but Saturday work will always be available as a voluntary option. Drivers can either operate daily, do a few nights out a week or do full on tramping Monday to Friday (Monday to Thursday night sleeping in the cab).
A paid induction is required – where possible - prior to starting work on day 1.
PAY & TERMS :
- £ 15.00 PER HOUR
- £ 25.00 PER NIGHT OUT
- GUARANTEED MINIMUM 8 HOUR PAYMENT PER DAY.
- ALL BREAKS ARE PAID.
Applicants must be over 25 years of age for insurance purposes and must have held their CE entitlement for at least 6 months and have regular class 1 driving experience throughout the year. A maximum of 6 minor points will be allowed.
Previous steel haulage experience would be beneficial especially with chaining, roping & sheeting.
