General Operative

The Best Connection (Newcastle) are looking to recruit a General Operative for our client based in Cramlington. The business is a building material supplier well known for specialising in wood and timber. Their main focus is to recruit a punctual, hardworking Operative they can rely on to be trained up and use on a long term basis.

Duties will be:

• To provide assistance in the Yard and Factory
• Taking materials on and off the production line
• General labouring (moving timber) for the first few weeks - once trained, candidates will move on to the production area
• Using nail guns to join timber frames
• Stacking finished timber frames ready for storage/dispatch
• General housekeeping duties

The ideal candidate:

• Experience of working in a fast paced work environment
• Comfortable with heavy lifting as materials can weigh over 20kg
• Ability to work well within a team and use own initiative while working alone
• Reliable, punctual and hard working

Hours of work:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:30am - 16:00pm
• 38.5hrs per week (43.5hrs during peak summer months)
• Ongoing work available all year round
• Potential to be permanent for the right candidate
• Potential for FLT training for the right candidate

Pay rates:

• £11.44 per hour (PAYE)
