The Best Connection launches Tour de Best Connection Charity Fundraiser inspired by The Queen’s Baton Relay

The Best Connection employment group is launching a company-wide baton-relay charity fundraising campaign inspired by The Queen's Baton Relay - Tour de Best Connection.

The business, which supplies temporary workers to the industrial, HGV, retail and warehousing & distribution sectors from its 85 branches, is challenging employees to undertake relays to pass the baton across the whole of the branch network throughout the UK.

Tour de Best Connection will comprise two baton journeys, starting in Glasgow and Truro on Friday 17th June and finishing on Thursday 28th July at the company's head office in Bromsgrove, to coincide with the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Each baton will travel around 800 miles and can be transferred via an employee's choice of activity including walking, running, cycling, swimming, or other preferred mode of exercise-based transfer to ensure the baton reaches its next destination.

The Best Connection will use the event as a celebration of its workforce and its focus on providing 'local jobs for local people' over the past three decades in business. Imagery capturing the essence of each branch location will map the batons' journeys.

Money raised by each individual branch throughout the event will be donated to a local charity chosen by the branch. At the end of the relay the company will then match the amount raised across the network and donate this to a national charity which will be selected by the company's employees.

Neil Yorke, Director, said: 'Tour de Best Connection was inspired by The Queen's Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games which this year will be hosted in Birmingham where our inaugural branch was established 31 years ago.'
