The Best Connection are currently recruiting a Class 1 Driver for our busy client in Northfleet.

Duties include:

* Operating a Class 1 vehicle within the waste industry

* Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with

instructions

* Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and not to use any that are

unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must

be stored in the approved place after use.

* Ensure that all guards are securely fixed and that all safety equipment and personal

protective clothing/equipment provided are used.

* To switch off and secure unattended vehicle, plant or equipment.

* Adopt a proactive manner to energy usage and suggest ways of improving energy

performance.

* Within this key customer facing role, you will be responsible for the safe and

efficient operation of a company vehicle and assist in providing an effective

delivery and collection service to the customers or branches as necessary.

* You will be responsible for ensuring you drive within the law and regulations at

all times and ensuring the loads carried also comply with all legal and

environmental requirements.

* You will be responsible for ensuring that any vehicle you drive and equipment

you use, is mechanically safe and sound as far as is required by you as a driver,

before the vehicle is used on or off road.

* Observe current legislation and company health and safety procedures

Hours and Pay

Core hours are Monday to Friday 0600 - 1600 and some Saturdays are required 0600-1600

Pay rate is £17.66 per hour Monday to Friday and £26.49 per hour on Saturdays

Experience:

* LGV C+E (HGV class 1) entitlement essential

* Drivers CPC qualification and Digital tachograph card essential

* Good communication skills with colleagues and customers/clients

* Ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a team

* Be safety conscious at all times with adherence to health and safety procedures

* Experience driving a Bulk carrier and articulated units. (Essential)
