National Living Wage Changes: What Workers Need to Know

The National Living Wage (NLW) is a legally mandated minimum hourly wage in the UK for workers aged 21 and over. The rate is set by the Government, to protect the country’s lowest paid workers. 

Upcoming Changes

Currently, the NLW hourly rate is £11.44 per hour. As from April 2025, this will increase to £12.21, meaning a 6.7% boost to your hourly pay. This is great news for permanent and temporary workers over the age of 21, as it ensures your earnings keep pace with the rising cost of living. 

Affects on You

  • More money in your pocket – If you’re working full-time (37.5 hours per week), this pay-rise means you could earn over £1,500 more per year, or about £125.46 more per month. 
  • More flexibility and a better work-life balance – A higher hourly rate means you may not need to work as many hours to meet your financial goals. 

Temporary Contracts
