Our Story

Our story starts in 1991 with our founder members, Andrew Sweeney and Neil Yorke. Against a backdrop of economic recession, the pair recognised the need for a temporary recruitment business that not only understood the pain points and challenges of local industries, but also worked to deliver solutions to combat them. And with this vision in place, The Best Connection was born.

Opening our first branch in Birmingham, in the heartland of the UK’s manufacturing and automotive sectors, we quickly established our place as the West Midlands’ leading industrial recruitment specialist. As our reputation grew, so did our number of clients, paving the way for us to become one of the largest temporary recruitment agencies in the UK.

Fast forward more than 30 years and The Best Connection is firmly established as a respected industry leader. Part of the SWS Group of companies, we have a national network of over 85 branches and more than 700 employees. As we celebrate our achievements, we are also looking ahead to our future, as we continually strive to improve our services to our clients and candidates.
