Andy Sweeney | Founder/CEO
Company founder Andy Sweeney has been CEO of The Best Connection Group for over 25 years. With a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Liverpool and an MBA from Aston University, Andy is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Andy developed a passion for entrepreneurship – holding senior roles at Ladbroke PLC and United Trade Press before launching his own consultancy. His leadership has guided The Best Connection’s growth into one of the UK’s leading temporary recruitment businesses.
As a Trust Director of the Employee Ownership Trust, Andy champions shared success and employee empowerment. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, exploring, and lifelong learning.
Neil Yorke | Founder/Director
Birmingham-born Neil co-founded The Best Connection in 1991 alongside Andy Sweeney. With a business degree and background in chartered accountancy, Neil held senior financial roles before launching the company – experience that shaped TBC’s strong operational and ethical foundations.
Today, Neil plays a key role in operational management, facilities, communications, and business strategy. As a Trust Director of the Employee Ownership Trust, he helps ensure that employee voices remain central to how the business operates.
Outside work, Neil enjoys sailing, gardening, and racquetball.
Lee Harris | Director
Lee Harris has been part of The Best Connection for over 30 years, progressing from Recruitment Consultant to Director. He oversees a large regional branch network, the Central Sales and Central Managed Solutions teams, ensuring high-quality, tailored recruitment services for clients nationwide.
Lee also contributes to the company’s Compliance, Quality, and Assurance team. Away from work, Lee enjoys travelling and spending time outdoors with his family.
Dave Schilling | Director
With more than 30 years of recruitment experience in industrial, warehouse, and driving markets, Dave oversees several branches across the UK for The Best Connection. Known for his client-first approach, he focuses on delivering service that exceeds expectations.
Dave believes exceptional recruitment is built on honesty, quality, and consistency – values that shape The Best Connection’s approach today. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking (especially curries!) and meditation.
Darren Ainge | Director
Darren leads our People Services and Key Accounts divisions and is passionate about Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. He also oversees Corporate Social Responsibility and represents TBC at the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s leadership meetings.
His focus on collaboration and employee engagement supports the company’s employee-owned culture and long-term client relationships. Outside work, Darren enjoys spending time with his family and supporting his local football team.
Oliver Darley | Head of Legal
A practising solicitor since 2013, Oliver oversees the Legal Department across The Best Connection and the wider SWS Group. His expertise covers employment law, commercial property, regulatory compliance and data protection.
As an Employee Director of the Employee Ownership Trust, Oliver represents colleagues across the business, ensuring employee voices are heard in strategic decision-making and ensures the business operates with integrity and transparency.
Outside work, he enjoys golf, countryside walks, and good food.
Jane Power | Business Assurance Manager
Jane leads Compliance, Quality, and Assurance for The Best Connection. With a professional diploma in Quality Assurance and Management, she ensures the business maintains high standards under the ISO9001:2015 and ISO27001 Quality Management Systems.
As an Employee Director of the Employee Ownership Trust, Jane plays a key role in fostering engagement, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Outside work, Jane enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with family.
David Morton | IT and Telecoms Manager
David has led The Best Connection’s IT and telecoms infrastructure for more than 25 years, ensuring 24/7 support across more than 80 locations. Under his leadership, the IT team has expanded to include specialists in Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security.
He has been instrumental in achieving key certifications including ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials. Outside work, David enjoys family life and staying active supporting his children’s hobbies.
Roxi Sweeney | Head of Marketing and Digital
Roxi leads The Best Connection’s marketing and digital strategy, overseeing all external communications, brand, and digital transformation projects. With an MSc in Management from the University of Bath and CIM & CMI Diplomas, she combines creativity and strategy to strengthen the company’s brand and client and candidate experiences.
She believes technology should enhance, not replace, personal relationships – keeping TBC’s people-first culture at the heart of every innovation. Outside work, Roxi enjoys triathlons and long-distance running.
Katie Yorke | HR Manager
Katie is passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience and supporting professional growth. Since joining in 2017, she has developed the company’s HR & People strategy and completed an MSc in Human Resource Management.
An advocate of lifelong learning, Katie promotes development through TBC’s structured training and apprenticeship programmes. Outside work, she enjoys hockey, diving, spending time with her niece and travelling with her rescue dog, Alma.
