From Chesterfield to Ukraine: Stewart Kinder Supports Communities in Need 

At The Best Connection, supporting our people and the communities we serve is central to who we are. That’s why we are incredibly proud of Stewart Kinder, one of our team members from The Best Connection Chesterfield, who recently took part in a remarkable humanitarian mission to Ukraine. 

On Friday 5th September, Stewart joined a group of dedicated drivers – Darren Evers, Kieran Brennan, and Michael Butt – delivering vital medical aid and vehicles to Ukraine. The team set out with a refrigerated lorry and a jeep, transporting essential supplies under the auspices of the Carmen General Charity, part of the historic Carmen Livery Company for Transport. 

This initiative was supported through Drive to Save Lives (D2SL), which enables funding and logistics to ensure critical resources reach those who need them most. Importantly, all donations went directly to the registered charity, ensuring immediate and meaningful assistance on the ground. 

Making a Difference Beyond the Day Job 

Stewart and his friends have also been raising funds locally through community activities, including Paella Days, showcasing how compassion and teamwork can inspire action and deliver real impact. So far, the group has raised over £3,00 through GoFundMe (including Gift Aid) and over £1,000 in cash donations. 

Speaking after the journey, Stewart said: 

“I feel proud to have been part of something that can make a real difference to people in such difficult circumstances. With the support of the charity, and the generosity of those who have donated, we were able to deliver aid that will have a direct impact on the lives of many in Ukraine. Our commitment doesn’t end there though, and we will continue to support those in need where we can.”
