The Best Connection Group Transitions to Employee Ownership  

The Best Connection Group is proud to announce that it has transitioned to an Employee-Owned Business, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history.  

This change took effect as all companies within the SWS Group, including The Best Connection Group, Bailey Employment Services, Backline Logistics, Backline Logistic Support Services, Fleetmaster Group, City Transport Solutions, The People Co, and The People Co Inc., became part of the newly established Employee-Owned Trust, SWS Trustee Limited.  

Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs) were introduced by the UK Government in 2014 to promote employee ownership as a succession strategy. This model provides a structured pathway for business owners to transition their companies into employee ownership, offering stability, continuity, and empowering employees with a controlling interest in the business. 

Neil Yorke, Co-founder and Director of the SWS Group, expressed enthusiasm about the transition, stating, “We are thrilled to take the business to the next stage in its transformative journey by adopting an employee-ownership model. This decision will benefit all employees in the long term and acknowledges their invaluable contributions across all our brands over the years. We are proud to join the growing community of over 1,650 companies that have embraced this concept, and we eagerly anticipate the positive outcomes it will bring.” 

The move to an employee-owned structure was driven by a commitment to maintain the Group’s independence while recognising the hard work and dedication of its employees. The Founders will continue to play a key role in shaping the business strategy, ensuring the company’s enduring success.

This, in turn, will directly benefit our clients and temporary workers. Through this structure, employees will have a direct voice in the company’s decision-making processes, ensuring that their perspectives are valued and respected,” added Yorke.
