Our client is looking for an experienced and professional Deputy Manager. This role would also be suitable for experienced senior staff that are looking for progression.
After some shadowing and training at their other services in the area, you will be supporting the Registered Manager in the running of a 5-bed residential home, specializing in providing care for young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Our client has a successful 12 week step up and mentoring program for candidates they feel would benefit from extra support.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring all children and staff are sufficiently safeguarded, supervising and mentoring team members and all operational tasks associated with managing the home.
In order to be considered for this role you must have:
- Experience in Residential Children’s Social Care with a minimum of two years’ experience, ideally as a Deputy or Senior staff member.
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills, with a very nurturing empathetic side.
- Hold a level 3 NVQ Diploma in Residential Childcare/Health and Social Care Children’s Workforce (or equivalent) Or have an NVQ Level 5 in Residential Childcare or equivalent or be willing to work towards this qualification within two years.
- At least one year’s experience in management or supervisory role.
- A clear DBS and positive references from all companies worked in supported living.
- The ability to deal with challenging situations in a non-consequential and nurturing way with the confidence to set appropriate boundaries and implement the communities’ policies and procedures.
