Our client based in Launceston require skilled Window Fitters to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the installation process for windows, doors, and conservatories, along with hands-on experience working with a variety of materials and tools. This role requires precision, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring all installations are secure, efficient, and contribute to the overall quality of our projects.

Rates of Pay:

  • £28,000.00 - £34,000.00 per year

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday-Friday

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team in the installation of UPVC and aluminium windows/doors, flat/warm roof systems, roofline finishes, conservatories, and other glazing elements, from start to finish.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, colleagues, and other key personnel throughout the process.

Key Duties:

  • Install items in compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
  • Use hand tools and power tools proficiently for cutting, fitting, and sealing components.
  • Ensure items are plumbed, aligned, and securely fitted.
  • Perform trimming and finishing to ensure high-quality installations.
  • Read and interpret schematics to understand the specific installation requirements.
  • Collaborate with carpenters and other trades on-site to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Window/Door Fitter, or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical installations related to window/door fittings is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and clients.
