The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join the team of one of our longest standing clients.

This is a Temp to Perm position with the opportunity to gain a full time contract after the qualifying period.

Previous experience working as a Supervisor is preferred.  Flexibility is essential for the role as the successful candidate will be required to work any 5 out of 7 days with shift work applying. 

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Supervisor

• Excellent understanding and experience of HSHE management and legislation (IOSH desirable) with the ability to drive and support the company’s HSHE plan

• An understanding of the modern supply chain and the ability to Lead, Inspire, and Drive a Team to deliver and perform to the best possible standards

• Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel (intermediate level) is essential

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• The need to be efficient, organised, hardworking, self-motivated, flexible and adaptable

• Constantly work to improve processes
• Make suggestions for productivity improvements
• Determine and track the most important warehouse KPIs
• Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained.
• Communicate and collaborate with other team members
• Assist in supervising a team of warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations
• Oversee inbound deliveries and communicate with HGV Drivers to meet deadlines
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse
• Train new employees on proper procedures and safety protocols
• Address any issues or discrepancies that arise during daily operations

Requirements of the Warehouse operative

• The ideal candidate will be FLT trained and will have experience in a Supervisor role
• Attention to detail.
• Good numeracy skills.
• Good accuracy and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to target.
• Experience in a warehouse environment
• Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate forklifts safely

Benefits & Pay of the Warehouse operative

• Days shift (6am-2pm, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm)
  £14.73 per hour // £19.64 OT rate
• Noons shift (2pm-10pm)
  £14.73 per hour // £19.64 OT rate
• Nights shift )10pm-6am
  £15.73 per hour // £20.97 OT rate
• Permanent contract available after a qualifying period of 13 weeks worked
