Warehouse Operative
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our client's team on a temporary-to-permanent basis for the right candidate.
This is a varied role combining warehouse and driving duties, with a driving licence required as you may be required to deliver products to different sites.
Training & Shift Pattern
Please note: The dayshift will only be worked for the first 2 weeks to allow you to complete training and become familiar with the role.
Following the initial 2-week training period, you will move onto the nightshift on an ongoing basis.
Pay & Incentives
Dayshift - First 2 Weeks Only
- £13.05 per hour
- Increasing to £13.17 per hour after 12 weeks
Nightshift - Ongoing
- £14.68 per hour
- Increasing to £14.81 per hour after 12 weeks
Quarterly Bonus
- Potential to earn a £750 quarterly bonus after 12 weeks' service
Working Hours
Dayshift - First 2 Weeks Only
- Monday to Friday: 05:30 - 14:30
- Every fourth Saturday: 08:00 - 12:00
Nightshift - Ongoing
- Monday to Wednesday: 22:00 - 06:30
- Thursday to Friday: 22:00 - 07:30
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading goods safely
- Picking and preparing customer orders
- Ensuring products are handled carefully and delivered in suitable condition
- Supporting general warehouse duties
- Stock counting and general stock control
- Putting stock away accurately
- Following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety
- Working effectively as part of a busy team
- Driving to locations including Dumfries, Carlisle, Lancaster and Glasgow
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous warehouse and/or driving experience
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to handle products safely and responsibly
- Ability to follow SOPs consistently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
- Comfortable working across both warehouse and driving duties
- Must be available to complete 2 weeks of dayshift training before moving onto the ongoing nightshift
Additional Information
A Drugs & Alcohol test will be carried out within the first 6 weeks of employment.
