Warehouse Operative – Manufacturer & Distributor of Luxury Furniture Company based in North West London
Pay: £14.00 per hour with potential increase
Shifts: 08:00 - 17:00, 1 hour unpaid break
THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Warehouse Operative to join our operations team. This role offers a unique opportunity to help manage and organise the storage, handling, and dispatch of our luxury furniture collections. You will ensure accurate inventory records, maintain high standards of quality control, and coordinate logistics to meet delivery deadlines. Working closely with various teams, you will contribute to the seamless operation upholding our commitment to excellence in product handling and customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE
- Unloading and distributing a variety of items from containers into the warehouse. The items will vary in size, so the role can be physically demanding.
- Picking and packing products, loading/unloading goods, and wrapping for production lines.
- Relevant training may be provided if required to work in other areas of the warehouse.
- Check, load, and manage stock in the warehouse.
- Process all items in and out to bays using the company database (SAP) efficiently.
- Liaise with delivery drivers and courier drivers.
- Prepare items to be sent to client locations.
- Assist with the smooth running of the warehouse and showroom to meet client needs.
- Ensure warehouse and showroom processes are always followed.
- Regularly lift and/or move heavy items.
- Assist with the smooth running of the warehouse and logistics department, working closely with the Production and Sales teams.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Experience in delivering and assembling furniture will be a distinct advantage.
- Quality control experience.
- Strong organisational skills, multi-tasking abilities, and managing teams at all levels.
- Commitment to professional obligations, demonstrated by punctuality, good attendance, and proper observance of break times.
- Professional appearance and behaviour; maintaining healthy professional relationships with colleagues.
- Act as an ambassador for the company when dealing with clients, suppliers, or visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably within the furniture or luxury goods sector.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling inventory and fulfilling orders.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
- Team Player: Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues related to inventory and logistics.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various teams and external partners.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
