Day Shift Warehouse Operative - Picking & Packing

The Best Connection are currently recruiting Day Shift Warehouse Operatives to work with our client at their busy Distribution Centre, joining their PIP Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Day Shift Warehouse Operative who is reliable, hardworking and motivated, and enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse environment with strict targets and deadlines.

Nightshift is also available and the working hours are 20:00pm - 05:00am

The Role:

• Picking and packing orders accurately and efficiently within the PIP team.
• Using an LLOP (Low Level Order Picker) to move around the warehouse and pick stock.
• Using a headset voice-picking system to receive instructions and complete orders.
• Working to strict KPIs and productivity targets, including expected picks per hour.
• Maintaining high levels of accuracy while working at pace.
• Ensuring orders are picked, packed and prepared for dispatch within required deadlines.
• Following all health and safety procedures when operating warehouse equipment.
• Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised, following a clean-as-you-go approach.
• Working as part of a team to ensure daily targets and operational deadlines are achieved.

The Candidate:

• Previous warehouse or picking experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience using an LLOP or other MHE is advantageous (training may be provided where required).
• Comfortable using headset voice-picking technology.
• Must be confident working to KPIs, productivity targets and expected picks per hour.
• Able to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a strong team-working attitude.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with a positive approach to work.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Please note: This role is performance-driven. Candidates must understand that productivity is monitored against KPIs, including picks per hour. The ability to maintain consistent performance while meeting accuracy and quality standards is essential for a successful Day Shift Warehouse Operative.

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday.
• Accessible from Darlington, North Role on public transport
• 06:00am - 13:30pm.
• Inductions take place on Monday - Immediate start
• Ongoing assignments available.

Pay Rates:

• £13.45 per hour.
