The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Trainee Upholsterer to join a well-established and respected furniture manufacturer. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a rewarding career, learning from experienced professionals in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Are you ready to learn a skilled trade and craft beautiful, high-quality furniture? You’ll be guided and mentored by expert upholsterers as you master the art of transforming raw materials into stunning finished pieces.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Learning Upholstery Techniques
- Apply foam and fabric to frames with precision and care.
- Use correct tension and straining methods to position materials for a perfect fit.
- Working with Materials and Trimmings
- Familiarise yourself with different fabrics, paddings, and frame types, ensuring quality and durability.
- Work with a range of trimmings and finishings including buttons, facings, piping, and decorative studs.
Using Tools and Equipment
Operate compressed air equipment such as staple guns, as well as a variety of hand tools.
Create different types of pleats, including scroll arm, envelope, and puckering techniques.
Collaborating as a Team
Work as part of a team on piece work production to keep manufacturing running smoothly.
Collaborate with upholsterers, trainers, and managers to meet production goals and deliver exceptional products.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all our products and specifications to ensure consistency and quality in every item.
- Attention to Detail
- Ensure each finished product is neat, precise, and meets our high-quality standards.
- Prioritising Safety
Follow all safety procedures when working with tools and machinery in the workshop.
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 6:45am – 3:30pm
Friday: 6:45am – 2:05pm
