Transport Supervisor

Monday to Friday | 5:00am - 2:00pm

£29,100 per year (£14 per hour) + annual profit‑related bonus

Are you a hands‑on transport professional who thrives in a fast‑moving environment? We're looking for a proactive Transport Supervisor to lead and support our driver team at a busy next‑day delivery RDC. This is a key role where you'll champion health & safety, drive operational excellence, and help deliver an outstanding service to our customers.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading, supporting and supervising a team of drivers in a fast‑paced transport operation
• Championing health & safety and transport compliance, proactively building a strong Stay Safe culture
• Planning and reviewing delivery routes to maximise efficiency, utilisation and fuel performance
• Responding swiftly to changes in volumes, resources, breakdowns and operational challenges
• Coaching drivers, providing constructive feedback, and managing infringements in line with current legislation
• Ensuring vehicles are inspected, maintained and compliant with Operator Licence requirements
• Conducting investigations, return‑to‑work interviews and other people‑focused processes when required
• Making confident, logical decisions under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
• Taking a commercial view of fleet operations, with an understanding of cost control and performance

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a Transport Supervisor (or similar) role, ideally within a fast‑paced logistics or RDC environment
• A strong focus on health & safety, compliance and continuous improvement
• A natural leader who can motivate, engage and communicate effectively with drivers and colleagues
• The confidence to handle challenges calmly and professionally
• Strong organisational skills, good computer literacy and a thorough, methodical approach

Desirable (but not essential):

• HGV licence with CPC
• Good working knowledge of transport legislation and best practice
