Quality Technician (Trainee) - Flixborough → Louth

Full-time | Shift-based | Initially Flixborough Industrial Estate, moving to Louth site end of year

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Quality Technician to join our Quality team, supporting both the Flixborough and Louth sites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or grow their career in laboratory quality assurance within a fast‑paced industrial environment.

You will begin your role based at the Flixborough Industrial Estate, with all training and day‑to‑day duties carried out there. The position will permanently relocate to the Louth site at the end of this year.

As a Trainee Quality Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring raw materials, in‑process products and finished goods meet strict quality, safety and compliance standards. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sampling, testing, inspection and reporting for raw materials, processed materials and finished products.
  • Complete routine quality checks on production lines and packaging materials.
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation.
  • Prepare and dispatch customer samples.
  • Support internal audits and compliance activities (BRC, ISO, HACCP).
  • Assist with quality investigations, improvements and product development.
  • Adhere to H&S and COSHH regulations at all times.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the laboratory.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to uphold quality standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Good general education (GCSE-level or equivalent).
  • Basic IT knowledge.
  • Previous shift work experience.
  • Understanding of ISO/BRC/HACCP or similar quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with strong initiative.
  • Reliable, committed and a strong team player.

Desirable:

  • Experience in an industrial or laboratory environment.
  • Mechanical or machine operation experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing.
  • Health & Safety training.
