Experienced Injection Moulding Toolmaker - 6-12 Month Contract

Location: Whitstable, with occasional travel to Pluckley

Hours: Monday-Thursday, approximately 7am-6pm (flexible start time of 6am available for the right candidate)

Salary: £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our team in Whitstable, with occasional travel to our site in Pluckley.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in producing high-quality work and has solid experience within an injection moulding toolroom.

About the Role

As a Toolmaker, you will play a key role in the manufacture, repair, modification and maintenance of injection moulding tools, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within required timescales.

The role is predominantly focused on offline machining using Delcam, alongside spark erosion and surface grinding.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working under their own initiative, managing their workload and prioritising jobs to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Predominantly offline machining using Delcam

* Spark erosion

* Surface grinding

* Manufacture, repair and maintenance of injection moulding tools

* Modify and repair tooling as required

* Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

* Complete toolmaker schedules within agreed deadlines

* Work to tight tolerances and maintain consistently high standards

* Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

* Follow all company health & safety procedures and safe working practices

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with:

* A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Toolmaking or Production Engineering

* Previous experience working within a busy toolroom or manufacturing environment

* Strong knowledge and practical experience of injection moulding tool manufacture, repair and maintenance

* Experience with Delcam/offline machining

* Experience with spark erosion and surface grinding

* The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

* The ability to work to tight tolerances and deadlines

* Good organisational and time-management skills

* A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work independently

* A strong commitment to health and safety

A full UK driving licence is preferred due to occasional travel between sites.
