Job Title: Tool Maker

Reports to: Tooling Manager

Hours of Work: 40 hrs/wk - 7.00 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday (with 45-minute lunch break)

7.00 to 12.00 Midday Friday

Role Overview:

Responsible for making or improving all types of Tooling to enable the production process within the manufacturing facility to be as efficient as possible. This may include Jigs, Fixtures, Clamps and Moulds to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the customer.

Responsibilities:

1. Assists the Tooling Manager in all aspects of in-house and External tool Manufacturing, Maintenance, Development and Testing activities to ensure the business objectives are met.

2. To maximise productivity and maintain the highest level of workmanship for all Tooling activities.

3. Provide Specialist technical advice and support on all aspects of tool Design, Manufacture and Estimating.

4. Support Production and Engineering with Tooling/Technical problems.

5. Support Production and Engineering to manage on-time availability of tools to ensure continuous production.

6. Ensuring Health & Safety is embedded into all processes in the Tool room

Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

· Must have knowledge of programming workshop CNC machinery.

· EDM/Grinding.

· Previous experience within the rubber and plastics industry would be ideal.

· Enthusiastic and self-motivated.

Physical demands:

· Lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching and / or crawling, standing, sitting, significant fine finger dexterity.
