Due to continued growth and increasing demand, our client is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and organised Stores Person to join their busy team on a full-time, temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous warehouse and forklift experience who is looking to secure a long-term position within a stable and thriving business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the stores department, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting production operations through effective material handling and stock control.
Key Responsibilities
As a Stores Person, your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Receiving, checking, and booking in deliveries to ensure all goods are accurately accounted for.
- Maintaining stock levels and carrying out regular stock control procedures.
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently to move materials around the site.
- Booking stock in and out of the stores area using the company's inventory management system.
- Updating and maintaining records using internal computer systems and databases.
- Ensuring all materials are stored correctly and can be easily located when required.
- Maintaining full traceability of all stock and stored materials in line with company procedures.
- Identifying and reporting any stock discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Supporting production teams by ensuring materials are available when needed.
- Keeping the stores area clean, tidy, safe, and organised at all times.
- Following all health and safety procedures and company guidelines.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working within a warehouse, stores, or stock control environment.
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift licence and recent forklift operating experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Confidence using computers and updating stock management systems.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Working Hours
Rotating shift Monday to Friday - 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm
Pay Rate
£14.00 per hour
