Seamstress / Sewing Operator required - £23,400 per year

The Best connection is seeking Seamstress / Sewing Operator to work for our client based in Swindon. This is a temporary assignment that could go permanent after 3 successful months.

Easily accessible by public transport.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that sewing machines and other equipment are in good working order.
• Altering or repairing customer garments and other articles, which includes hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
• Using irons and pressing machines to erase any creases on the garments and other articles.
• Report any complaints, accidents, equipment malfunction, maintenance faults, suspicious persons, safety hazards or other incidents immediately to the supervisor or the duty Manager.
• Understand and follow all the objectives, standards, policies and procedures outlined by your manager.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a seamstress or with tailoring.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced atelier department, working with a calm, positive and problem-solving attitude.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials, including delicate and high-end textiles.

Hours and Pay:

• 9 am - 5 pm
• Monday to Friday
• £23,400 per year- Starting package
