The Best Connection are currently looking for an experienced night shift Cross Saw Operative to work in the Hull area.

The wood Machinist is responsible for operating the cross saw machine to cut wood to various lengths.

This includes setting up and operating saws, measuring, and cutting wood to specifications, and maintaining sawing equipment. 
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Measure and cut wood to specifications, using a variety of measuring tools
• Must have a strong attention to detail
• Maintain sawing equipment, including making minor repairs
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in sawing or woodworking preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations

Physical Demands:

• The Saw Operator, Wood Machinist must be able to lift and move heavy objects when required, standing for long periods of time, and work in a noisy environment.
• Be used to working in an open environment as doors are open regularly due to FLTs moving in and out with stock.

Working Hours & Pay:

• Night shift - Monday to Thursday  5pm till 5am 12 hour shifts.
• £12.75ph starting pay.
• Plenty of overtime available.
• Could be a full time offer of employment for the right candidate.
