The Best Connection have are partnered with one of the areas leading providers of waste and recycling facilities management in East Anglia and are recruiting for Refuse/Recycling Operatives to join their friendly team in Bedford.

The role will be working with a crew of refuse loaders to load the recycling vehicle whilst collecting bins from domestic and commercial premises.

Shifts are working Monday - Friday from 06:30-15:30hrs Pay rates are £12.71 per hour, pay rate for Saturday after 40 hours is £19.07 per hour and double time paid at £25.42 per hour for working Bank Holidays after 40 hours.

Requirements of the Bedford Refuse/Recycling Operatives:

• Follow all training and health and safety protocol whilst working on the round.
• Collect bins and recycling, safely load vehicle and replace bins throughout the round
• Be physically fit and actives as the role requires heavy lifting, manual handling and long periods of walking and standing
• Have good communication skills, good teamwork skills,reliable and hard-working
• Must be able to commit to regular early morning shifts
• Happy to work outside in all weathers as the role will be on the road, accompanying vehicles.

Responsibilities of the Refuse/Recycling Operatives:

• Attend all pre-work training and commit to all shifts once confirmed
• Follow health and safety rules and wear PPE provided whilst on shift
• Carry out all duties safely and follow instructions of the supervisor/driver at all times
• Be flexible to work shifts as required and work well as part of the crew
