Production Manager - Wolverhampton

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

The Best Connection are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and successful engineering and manufacturing business in Wolverhampton for an experienced Production Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team.

This is a key position within the business, responsible for overseeing day-to-day production operations, leading a large production team and ensuring the business consistently achieves its delivery, quality, efficiency and cost targets.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will take overall responsibility for production performance across multiple facilities, ensuring production plans are achievable and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing a large production team, including Supervisors and Team Leaders.
• Planning and coordinating production to achieve OTIF, OEE and KPI targets.
• Monitoring production performance, capacity and workloads against the orderbook.
• Driving Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Business Development and Account Management.
• Managing production priorities and ensuring products move efficiently through the business.
• Identifying and resolving production issues, escalating where necessary.
• Supporting quality improvements and ensuring a strong Right First Time approach.
• Ensuring equipment, facilities and production processes are maintained to a high standard.
• Maintaining strong health & safety standards and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
• Supporting compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and confident Production Manager with a strong background in engineering or manufacturing.

You will ideally have:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing and motivating production teams.
• Strong knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes.
• Experience within CNC machining, precision engineering or metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Visual Management.
• Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• HNC/HND or Engineering Degree would be advantageous.
