The Best Connection Guildford are looking for a Plastic Technician/Machine Operative for our client based in Aldershot.

Job Title:                     Plastic Technician & Warehouse Operative

Hours of Work:          

  • 40 hrs/wk - 7.00 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday (with 45-minute lunch break)
  • 7.00 to 12.00 Midday Friday

Pay:

  • £12.98ph to £14.42ph - depending on experience

Role Overview:

  • All aspects of injection machines – both plastic and rubber – within the business.  To include and not limited to, tool and machine setting with the aim of running jobs from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  • Tool Changes on the Engel Plastics Moulding machine.
  • Build Plastic tools using Bolsters and cores ready to install for production runs
  • Condition setting of Plastics jobs utilizing Knowledge of existing staff
  • Undertake relevant Training courses so as to develop Knowledge
  • Assist other departments when required to ensure Production requirements are met.
  • Support all production machine setters and the rubber engineering department.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensure that operating supplies are used economically as planned.
  • Assist in the control usage, order, and pick up of operating supplies.
  • Ensure you are working efficiently and to the required output expectations.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
  • Trouble shooting skills and problem solving.
  • Able to work in selected teams and coordinate solutions.
  • Able to progress chase, internally as well as externally.
  • Knowledge of lean tools and applications beneficial.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Good analytical, planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills English oral & written.

Physical demands:

Lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching and / or crawling, standing, sitting, significant fine finger dexterity.
