This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing Civil Engineering company who are currently looking for a driven, dedicated, and professional individual to join their plant department as a Hire Controller. Our client has a considerable investment in plant and is the largest contracting purchaser of plant in the UK.

The role:

• Coordinate the supply of site requirements, ensuring timely delivery and using the most cost-effective sourcing options, including checking internal plant availability before hiring externally
• Communicate effectively with site teams regarding equipment needs, delivery timings, and updates, ensuring smooth project support
• Take ownership of any issues that arise, resolving them promptly and managing queries as needed
• Work to replace hired plant with in-house fleet where feasible, while reviewing and agreeing damage or loss charges in collaboration with the Plant Manager
• Maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to MVK’s quality and Health & Safety standards, and stay up to date with new products and services

Candidate Requirements:

• While not essential, prior experience in the construction industry would be beneficial
• Good working knowledge of Plant
• Experience with hiring of plant, controlling the movement of plant and haulage
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel)

Hours of work:

• 7:30am-16:30pm with a 1hr lunch break

Salary, Pension and Contributions:

•  £29,000 per Annum salary (£13.94)
•  Benefits include Healthy living payment, help at hand EAP, 3.5% pension contribution

Annual Leave:

•  23 days of Annual Leave excluding bank holiday, this increases with length of service
