Location: Enfield (with occasional travel to other sites)

Shifts: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5:30pm

Pay: £17 an hour


Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the smooth and continuous operation of our production sites.

This role is key in ensuring all machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained to a high standard, minimising downtime and supporting the production of high-quality products in a safe and efficient environment.

This position would suit a well-rounded technician with experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general building maintenance, who is also keen to develop their skills further.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on production equipment, including ovens, trollies, conveyor systems, and packaging machinery
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment faults quickly to minimise downtime and disruption
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company standards
  • Work closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities effectively
  • Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, ensuring critical items are available when needed
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, efficiency, and safety
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues when required
  • Provide general electrical and mechanical support and advice across the site

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum City & Guilds (C&G) qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience working in a maintenance environment, ideally within manufacturing
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across a range of machinery
  • Apprenticeship training (desirable)
  • Proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to use a range of tools and complete required documentation accurately

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based at the Enfield site, with occasional travel to other locations
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and overtime when required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Full PPE provided

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, and both indoors and outdoors
