The Best Connection is recruiting for an experienced Centre Lathe Operator for our Wolverhampton based client.
Immediate start available.
Working hours: Monday- Thursday 8.00am-4.30pm; Friday 8.00am–3.30pm
Pay rate is £13.00 per hour.
Temp to perm role.
Your daily duties will include:
- Set up and operate conventional lathes to machine carbon and stainless-steel flanges.
- Perform basic operations including facing, edging, and boring of profiled steel blanks.
- Work within general tolerances (up to ±1mm); no thread-cutting experience required.
- Select and adjust feeds and speeds according to the material and operation requirements.
- Ensure correct setup with minimal supervision, maintaining consistent quality and productivity.
- Interpret simple engineering drawings or job specifications as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in operating and setting conventional/manual centre lathes.
- Ability to work with carbon and stainless-steel materials.
- Solid understanding of machining principles and lathe operation settings.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
This is a temporary ongoing position with the potential of a permanent placement with the company after a trial period.
