The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a busy and well-established manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operator looking to work within a skilled engineering setting.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting up and operating a range of finishing equipment, including cylindrical, surface, and polishing machines, ensuring components are finished to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating cylindrical, surface, and polishing machines
• Finishing components to specification
• Inspecting parts before and after processing
• Carrying out routine operator maintenance
• Applying knowledge of factors affecting coating quality
• Following "check-work-check" procedures
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards (5S)
• Supporting team members where required
• Working safely and following all health & safety guidelines

Requirements

• Previous experience with manual cylindrical and surface grinding machines
• Experience working with tungsten carbide coatings
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Competent using measuring equipment and inspection techniques
• Detail-focused with a proactive attitude
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 - 16:00

Pay Rate

• £13.75 per hour
