The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Logistics Specialist for our well established client based in Croydon.

This is an on-going position from October through to March, with the potential for a permanent position from March on wards, subject to performance and business requirements.

The Role:

This is a varied role combining delivery driving and warehouse duties.

You will start your day at the warehouse, loading a 3.5-tonne van and completing deliveries to customers across the local area. Once your deliveries are complete, you will return to the warehouse and spend the remainder of your day picking and packing products, preparing orders ready for the following day's deliveries.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a role that offers a good balance between driving and warehouse work.

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30am to 4:30pm

Pay:

• £17.43 per hour
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Bank holidays paid at double time

Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Specialist:

Warehouse operations

• Complete the daily warehouse operation tasks set by management, such as (but not limited to) inbound/outbound of goods, picking/packing, stocktaking.
• Follow correct warehouse processes, to ensure that procedures are completed as efficiently as possible and records are updated and maintained accurately.
• Participate in stock takes and ensure that data is checked and captured correctly.
• Keep the warehouses clean and promote a safe working environment.
• Participate in other warehouse operation tasks set by your Line Manager.

Vehicle/transport operations

• Complete daily tasks set by management related to vehicle/logistics operations.
• Drive, maintain and look after company vehicles based on standards set by management.
• Operate reach forklift truck, be comfortable driving vehicles up to 3.5 ton.
• Participate in safe loading, unloading of vehicle and transporting of goods.
• Complete various driving jobs, which includes (but are not limited to) delivering, dropping off, picking up and moving various goods from our stakeholders.
• Pick up, load and deliver PPE and other stock to various hospital sites.
• Participate in other vehicle and logistics tasks set by the management

Requirements of the Logistics Specialist:

• A full, clean and valid UK driving licence is required.
• Previous warehouse and van driving experience is desirable but not essential.
• Candidates must be able to provide 3 years of referencing with no unexplained gaps.
• A DBS check will be required as part of the recruitment process.
