Our client, requires a Planning and Logistics Manager to work at its site in Tamworth. Duties include reporting directly to the Operations Director. Responsible for managing a team consisting of a Production planner, Transport planner and 21 drivers.

Job Role

  • Managing and support the production planning, transport planning and transport teams
  • Planning, coordinating, and optimising the production schedule and logistical operations to ensure that customer requirements are fully met on time

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring customer orders are completed efficiently and delivered on time
  • Developing production schedules that optimise resources while ensuring efficient use of equipment and manpower.
  • Ensuring transport is used efficiently, plan and manage all logistics operations, including dispatch and delivery of finished goods.
  • Ensuring team is a professional point of contact for Sales and Customers regarding delivery times, production updates, and logistical challenges
  • Providing daily leadership to planning and transport teams
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices
  • As a key member of the operations team, you will have a strong team working ethic with the ability to communicate customer needs to key stakeholders ensuring needs are met

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of production planning and logistics coordination within a manufacturing business
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling and capacity planning
  • Understanding of efficient use of transport to minimise logistics costs whilst achieving customer demand
  • Experience of communicating with customers and help provide solutions to scheduling queries or concerns
  • Strong leader who is able to foster a positive motivating high-performance culture
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work on several priorities at once

Desirables Skills and Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of Business Central IT system
  • Knowledge of New house building industry and its methods of practice

Our client offers

  • Monday to Friday. 
  • 08:30-17:00 Monday – Thursday and 08:30-16:00 on Friday.
