Job Title: HGV Technician / Truck & Trailer Technician

Location: Leyland, PR26 7QS

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: £18 - £22 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced HGV Technician to join our professional and fast-paced workshop in Leyland. This role is ideal for a skilled Truck & Trailer Technician who is confident working independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs, trucks, and trailers
• Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT
• Complete all job cards, service sheets, and compliance documentation accurately
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and DVSA standards
• Attend breakdowns where required (if applicable)

Requirements:

• Fully qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Proven experience working on trucks and trailers
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Good understanding of DVSA regulations and compliance
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)

Desirable Skills:

• IRTEC accreditation
• Experience with a range of manufacturers (DAF, Volvo, Scania, etc)
• Welding or fabrication skills
• Tachograph and electrical system knowledge
