The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a HGV Mechanic for our client based in Redhill to start immediately.

Hours:

• 36 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Pay:

• £35,724pa

Responsibilities of role:

• To carry out repair and maintenance services to a fleet of vehicles, plant and associated equipment, including our Grounds Maintenance equipment.
• To ensure that all maintenance and repair work is carried out to a high standard and that vehicles comply with DVSA standards and in accordance with the terms Operators Licence at all times.
• To ensure that maximum vehicle availability is maintained at all times.
• To ensure that all relevant administration work is completed in a timely manner.
• You will be working as part of an excellent team in a busy workshop.
• They are also an MOT test station which carries out MOT testing on Private Hire and Hackney Carriage vehicles operating within the borough. We also take MOT bookings from the general public.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and recover vehicles if repairs are not possible.
• Carry out necessary diagnostic work and specialist repairs where possible.
• Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety requirements relevant to your working environment.

Requirements of the role:

• City & Guilds or equivalent mechanic qualification
• DVSA approved Nominated MOT Tester or prepared & eligible for immediate training (classes 3, 4, 5 and 7) 
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements 
• HGV Driving Licence (Cat C)
• Ability to work unsupervised
