The Best Connection are seeking an experienced Class 1 Steel Driver to work for our well known Client based in Flixborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of steel, including bars, beams, columns, tubes, and plates. This role may also involve handling long and extended loads, so expertise in securing and transporting such cargo is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting various steel products, including long and extended loads.
- Using chains and load binders to secure loads safely.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Delivering to designated locations in a timely and professional manner.
- Inspecting vehicles and loads before departure.
- Using straps and ratchet straps where required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience driving Class 1 (HGV) vehicles.
- Advanced steel driving skills with experience handling steel products.
- Proficient in using chains and load binders for securing loads.
- Experience with straps and ratchet straps is preferred.
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) license, CPC, and Digi Tacho card.
- Strong understanding of load security and weight distribution.
- Good communication and time management skills.
