The Best Connection is an employment business recruiting on behalf of our client.

Our client is a leading operator in the recycling of used car tyres located near Selby, North Yorkshire. They work with a fleet of class 2 LGV, 7.5t LGV vehicles and vans for the collection of used car tyres in the north east and north west.  

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE HELD THEIR C ENTITLEMENT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS BY JULY 2024

We are looking for a suitable driver for a short term contract from August 2024 to November 2024 for holiday cover with this client. The applicant must have a C category entitlement on their licence so they can drive the LGV but may from time to time drive a 7.5t vehicle or a van. All work is paid at the same rate regardless of the vehicle being driven. 

PAY RATE :

First 12 weeks : Mon to Fri Days                                  £ 14.00 per hour

After 12 weeks : Mon to Fri Days                                 £ 14.52 per hour

Due to the location of the client’s depot, own transport is essential.

The work will be over 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Early morning starts are required. A good level of fitness is required as the tyres are loaded by hand into the truck. The successful candidate must be conscientious and manage their collection times as the client is well versed on how long it will take to make each collection and lengthy delays in collections are not tolerated. The work is often dirty due to the tyres being left outside by the customer. Applicants must have good customer facing skills and good communication skills. 

The first week of this assignment will be a training week. During this time the candidate will be assessed for driving skills. 

No DR or DD or IN10 endorsements will be permitted, maximum of 6 minor points.
