The Best Connection Bedford require ongoing HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driver to work for a logistics company based in Biggleswade. You will be required to deliver loads to sites across the country.
Working hours
- Monday to Friday
- Guaranteed 50 hours per week
Pay rate:
HGV Class 1 Driver Duties:
- Completing delivery paperwork
- Ensuring rules on driver's hours and working time directive are adhered to
- Delivering and collecting precast, tower cranes, building loads to building sites
- Preparing the vehicle by conducting operator checks and maintenance
- Making sure loads are secured safely
- Routine maintenance such as topping up oil, tyre and break checks before and after journeys
HGV Class 1 Driver requirements:
- Good understanding of driver's hours regulations
- Good understanding of safety on the road and when loading and unloading
- A polite and professional manner
- Minimum 12 months HGV driving (Cat C) recent experience
- Hold a UK Licence, CPC and DIGI tachograph cards
- Must be able to follow construction sites H&S code of practice
- No more than 6 points (No DD DR or IN)
- Must have the correct PPE - HI Vis and Safety Boots (can be provided)
- A reasonable level of fitness
- Ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
- Good customer service
