HGV Class 2 (C) Driver - Temp to Perm

The Best Connection Tamworth are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 (C) Driver to join a well-established fuel distribution business based in Tamworth.

This is a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity regular Monday-to-Friday work and the opportunity to move into a permanent position with excellent overtime opportunities.

The Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products to retail and commercial customers across the local and surrounding areas.

Duties will include:

• Completing approximately 12-15 deliveries per day.
• Delivering products safely and efficiently.
• Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations.
• Completing delivery paperwork and relevant vehicle checks.
• Loading and unloading products as required.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed in accordance with company procedures and road safety requirements.

Manual Handling

Products can range from 1kg to 30kg.

Some deliveries will involve handballing, while heavier products can be moved using sack trolleys. The role is therefore primarily a push-and-pull operation where mechanical assistance is required.

Candidates should be comfortable with regular manual handling.

Pay & Working Hours

• £15.00 per hour
• Monday to Friday
• 07:00-15:00
• 40 hours per week
• Temp-to-perm opportunity.
• Once permanent, overtime available paid at time and a half (1.5x).
• Additional hours available, subject to legal driving regulations.

Training & Immediate Start

Immediate starts are available.

Your first day will include an induction, followed by working alongside an experienced driver. This will allow you to learn the company's procedures, routes and customer delivery requirements before progressing to working independently.

Driver Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph card.
• A reliable and professional approach to work.
• Good customer service skills.
• The ability to undertake manual handling duties.
• A good understanding of vehicle and road safety.
