The Best Connection Tamworth are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Atherstone. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position with a respected employer offering a Monday to Friday schedule, competitive pay, and excellent benefits.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery and collection of machinery and equipment across the UK. Customer service is a key aspect of the role, and you will be expected to represent the company professionally while delivering outstanding service to customers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out nationwide deliveries and collections of machinery and equipment
• Loading, securing, and transporting equipment safely
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Completing vehicle housekeeping and basic maintenance duties
• Ensuring all delivery and collection paperwork is completed accurately
• Adhering to driver hours and road transport regulations
• Providing excellent customer service at all times

Requirements

✅ Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence

✅ Valid Driver CPC Qualification

✅ Minimum 3 years' Class 1 driving experience

✅ Strong communication and customer service skills

✅ Professional and flexible approach to work

✅ High attention to detail and commitment to safety

Desirable Experience

• Experience transporting forklifts, plant machinery, or access equipment
• Forklift or plant operating experience
• Relevant forklift or plant licences

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 05:00 and 09:00
• No weekend work
• Occasional overnight stay required (maximum once per week)
