HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver - Darlington - Temp to Perm

The Best Connection is currently recruiting reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers for our valued client based in Darlington, a leading kitchen manufacturing and distribution company. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing work with a respected employer, delivering high-quality products across the UK.

The Role:

* Carrying out HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) tramping duties across the UK.

* Delivering kitchen products to distribution centres, commercial premises, construction sites, and customer locations using double decker trailers.

* Safely unloading products at delivery points.

* Using a PDA to scan deliveries, obtain proof of delivery, and complete delivery records accurately.

* Completing all transport documentation to a high standard.

* Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects promptly.

* Complying with drivers' hours regulations, road transport legislation, and health and safety procedures.

* Providing a professional, courteous, and customer-focused service at all times.

What We're Looking For:

* A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.

* A valid Driver CPC qualification.

* A valid Digital Tachograph Card.

* A good understanding of drivers' hours regulations and transport compliance.

* The flexibility to work away from home as part of regular tramping duties.

* Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience is preferred.

Working Hours:

* Start times from 04:00.

* Tramping work with overnight stays throughout the working week.

Pay Rates:

* Monday to Friday - £15.98 per hour.

* Overtime (after 10 hours) - £23.97 per hour.

* Saturday - £23.97 per hour.

* Sunday & Bank Holidays - £31.96 per hour.

* Night Out Allowance - £26.20 per night.
