Role Overview:
As Grounds Maintenance / Fertiliser Operator, you will be responsible for applying fertilisers to plants in accordance with best practices. You will use specialist equipment to ensure the correct application rates, while maintaining safety and efficiency across the nursery. This role is ideal for someone with a valid PA 1, PA 2, or PA 6 ticket and an interest in horticulture.
Pay- £12.21 per hour
Working Hours- Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00
Key Responsibilities for Grounds Maintenance / Fertiliser Operator:
- Operate fertiliser application equipment in the nursery to ensure optimal plant growth
- Accurately apply fertiliser according to the needs of various plants
- Ensure all machinery is maintained and operated in line with health and safety regulations
- Monitor plant health and provide feedback on fertiliser effectiveness
- Maintain fertiliser stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Work closely with other team members to ensure consistent quality of plant care
- Follow all environmental and safety guidelines to minimise risks
- Assist with general nursery tasks as required
Requirements:
- A valid PA 1, PA 2, or PA 6 certificate is essential
- Experience in Grounds Maintenance / Fertiliser Operator
- Previous experience working with fertiliser application or in a horticultural setting is a plus
- Knowledge of plant care and cultivation practices
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for horticulture
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and physical environments
