The Best Connection Chesterfield are currently recruiting a Warehouse Operative with FLT licences for one of our clients.

You will carry out the loading, unloading and inventory movements of a variety of goods, including goods up to 10t and shipping containers, using a variety of Forklift Trucks, as required by the Senior Stores Person and Production Manager to ensure the effective and efficient control of products within the Stores department and to the production workshops. Role will involve the receipt and control of inventory in a stores environment. Loading, control and monitoring of work packages in the manufacturing engineering environment

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 07:15 to 16:00, Friday 07:15 to 15:00.
  • Duties:

Goods Inwards

  • Loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Primary inspection of materials on receipt, ensuring goods are not damaged prior to offloading, storing them correctly and information the relevant department.
  • Ensure all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with Company’s Integrated Management System.
  • Provide a professional level of customer service with the Company's procedures and requirements.

Stock Control

  • Stock control of the yard including shelf-life control (Stock rotation, FIFO).
  • Kitting activity of parts that require FLT in-line with production requirements.
  • Informing stores of any stock issue to ensure that the stock system is updated.
  • Maintain and report local store stock levels and monitor activities including gas and diesel.

Dispatch

  • Using the FLT, load the workstations with the requisite roles in accordance with planned lead and cycle times, to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare goods for safe loading and transport and load using FLT

General

  • Ensure high standards in housekeeping across the whole site.
  • Adhere to the companies health and safety policies at all times.
  • Carrying out daily FLT checks, reporting any issues to the Health & Safety Manager
  • Ensure security of the Yard, driveways and external storage areas.
  • Assist any audits, be it internal or by external auditors.
  • Collection of goods from local suppliers, when required, in company vehicles
  • Perform all other duties determined by the needs of the business

Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to understand stores and production requirements.
  • High levels of attention to details.
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements for material handling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organised and able to prioritise tasks based on agreed larger goals
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Experience in stores environments within manufacturing engineering background.

Qualifications:

  • B2 Counterbalance Forklift qualification (Essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable)
