We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious 16 tonne forklift driver to handle the operation of heavy-duty forklifts in our production yard. The ideal candidate will be responsible for moving, loading, and unloading large materials efficiently while adhering to all safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a 16 tonne forklift safely and efficiently to move heavy materials and equipment.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas with precision.
- Inspect forklifts before and after use to ensure they are in safe working condition; report any defects or issues promptly.
- Organize materials in designated storage areas to maximize space and accessibility.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding forklift operation.
- Assist with general warehouse or site duties as required.
- Maintain accurate records of loads moved and equipment usage
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding workflow and safety.
Requirements
- Valid forklift operator certification/license, specifically for heavy-duty forklifts (16 tonne capacity).
- Proven experience operating a 16 tonne forklift or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to forklift operation.
- Good physical condition and ability to operate machinery for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic record-keeping and communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Work performed in warehouses, construction sites, or industrial environments.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions if outdoors.
- Ability to work flexible hours depending on project needs.
