The Best Connection are currently recruiting  for an experienced Electrical and Instrument Maintenance Techncian for a client based in South Birmingham. 

Duties will involve supporting production, maintaining electrical, instrument and control systems both with preventative maintenance as well as dealing with general breakdowns.  Previous experience is essential.  Minimum qualifications in ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, 18th edition.  Experience of Siemens PLCs or similar, with electrical controls and installations experience.  Experience required in instrument maintenance, calibration, relays and sensors. 

You will be working in the maintenace team, you will be required to maintain maintenance targets whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience of working in a manufacturing industrial environment
• · Minimum NVQ Level 3 electrical Engineering or equvalent with BS7671 18th edition wiring regulation.
• · Experience of Siemens PLC’s process control or similar (Ladder/PCS7).
• · Electrical controls background with electrical install experience is advantagus.
• · Experience in instrument maintenance and calibration. Temperature, solids, conductivity, level measurement and pH, contactor, relays, sensors.
• · Excellent communication skill

Hours of Work:

• 8:30am - 16:30pm Monday to Friday plus overtime which is available
• On call rota 1 in every 3 weeks, with additional standby and callout payments. 

Rate of pay:

• Salary - £44,8370 per annum equivalent to £21.56p/h (SWH 40) plus overtime
• Plus payments for standbys call outs, which will be paid on top of this.
