The Best Connection are currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join the finance team of a well-established and reputable organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress within a professional and fast-paced business environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the overall financial health of the business.

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield

Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (flexibility required - may vary between 8:30am - 5:00pm)

Pay: Salary discussed at interview

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining the sales ledger
• Chasing outstanding invoices via phone, email, and written communication
• Allocating incoming payments and reconciling accounts
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries
• Producing and reviewing aged debt reports
• Monitoring credit limits and assessing financial risk
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve account issues
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
• Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines

Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be highly accurate with data entry
• Have a good understanding of proforma versus credit accounts
• Have experience working with numbers in a financial setting
• Have experience handling cash
• Possess a strong understanding of GDPR and data confidentiality
