Class 2 Dustcart Driver – Newhaven Area

The Best Connection – a leading recruitment agency with over 85 branches across the UK are currently seeking an experienced Class 2 (Category C) Dustcart Driver to join our team in Newhaven, East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual looking for consistent work with a well-established local waste management and recycling company.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a Class 2 dustcart vehicle to carry out commercial waste collections in and around the Newhaven area.
Work as part of a team, including loaders, ensuring timely and safe waste collection routes.
Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with health & safety regulations.
Accurately complete paperwork and log sheets as required.
Maintain a professional and courteous manner with members of the public and team.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, or IN convictions).
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Digital Tachograph Card are essential.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving dustcarts or similar refuse collection vehicles preferred.
• Good knowledge of local routes around Newhaven and surrounding areas.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Physically fit – this role may include some loading responsibilities.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Fully paid induction that lasts for 1 day starting at 9am.
• Shift start times are 4am thereafter.
