The Best Connection Manchester is currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Class 2 Mixer Driver to join a leading supplier within the construction and concrete industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for a long-term position with full training provided. No previous mixer experience is required, making this an ideal role for drivers looking to develop new skills within the construction and building materials sector.

Pay Rates & Benefits

  • Starting rate of £16.12 per hour
  • Increased rate of £16.60 per hour after 12 weeks
  • Monday to Friday working pattern
  • No weekend work
  • Full paid training programme (1-2 weeks)

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 06:00 and 14:00
  • Finish times vary depending on delivery schedules and workload

The Role

As a Class 2 Mixer Driver, your duties will include:

  • Operating a concrete mixer vehicle safely and efficiently
  • Delivering ready-mix concrete to construction sites and commercial customers
  • Conducting daily vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting
  • Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time
  • Maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Following all health and safety procedures
  • Complying with Driver Hours Regulations and road transport legislation
  • Representing the company in a professional manner

Requirements

  • Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Licence
  • Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience
  • Driver CPC Qualification Card
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Availability for a long-term ongoing role

MPQC Requirement

An MPQC Card is preferred but not essential.

Candidates without an MPQC Card will be required to attend a fully funded one-day MPQC course before starting work.

Training Provided

No previous concrete mixer experience is necessary.

Successful candidates will receive:

  • Fully paid 1-2 week training programme
  • Mixer vehicle familiarisation
  • Site safety procedures
  • Delivery process training
  • Ongoing support from experienced transport professionals
