HGV Class 2 Mixer Driver

Durham (DH7)

£15.50 per hour (increasing to £16.12 after 12 weeks)

Full Time | Ongoing Work | Potential Permanent Position

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Mixer Driver on behalf of our client based in Durham (DH7).

This is a full-time ongoing position with the potential to lead to a permanent role after a successful period.

The role involves delivering ready mix concrete to various customer sites while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and vehicle care.

Pay

• £15.50 per hour for the first 12 weeks
• £16.12 per hour after 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering ready mix concrete to construction sites and customers
• Completing daily vehicle walk-around checks
• Ensuring the LGV vehicle is maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
• Reporting any vehicle defects in line with company procedures
• Ensuring full compliance with O-Licence regulations
• Promoting and following all Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Maintaining a professional image when representing the company
• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the Readymix plant
• Supporting with housekeeping duties and other operational tasks during quieter periods

Requirements

• Valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence - essential
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Knowledge of Tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive
• Previous Ready Mix or Truck Mixer experience preferred
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with customers and site staff
• Flexible and positive approach to working hours
• Commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental standards

Desirable

• Previous experience in concrete or mortar production
• NVQ or MPQC mobile plant qualification
