Job Title: Class 2 Driver / HGV Category C Driver (HIAB Training Provided)

Shifts: Monday to Friday (07:30 - 17:00) with occasional Saturday shifts available

The Best Connection is currently recruiting a Class 2 (Category C) Driver for our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant based at their Seahouses branch.

This is a temporary ongoing position with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

For drivers looking to expand their skills, the company is willing to fund and put the right candidate through their HIAB certificate training!

The Role:

• Delivering high-quality building materials and timber to trade and residential sites across the local Seahouses area.
• Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintaining accurate compliance records.
• Acting as a professional, customer-focused face of the company at the point of delivery.

Shift Pattern & Pay Rates:

• Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 17:00.
• Weekend Work: Occasional Saturday shifts are available to boost your earnings.
• Basic Hourly Rate: £16.50 per hour.
• Overtime Rate: £24.75 per hour (Paid at x1.5 after 8 hours worked each day).
• Saturday Rate: £24.75 per hour (All hours worked on Saturdays are paid at the full premium rate).

Requirements:

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (strictly for insurance purposes).
• Valid HIAB Certification (ALLMI or equivalent) is an advantage, but not essential.
• Experience in the construction supply or builders' merchant industry is highly desirable.
• Newly passed Class 2 drivers with commercial HGV experience are welcome to apply!
