Class 2 Driver

Location: Tamworth
Pay: £17.00 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday | 07:30 - 16:30 (occasional Saturdays required)

The Best Connection Tamworth are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join a family-run recycling company based in Tamworth. This is a full-time role involving the collection and transportation of waste materials, supporting environmental and recycling operations.

Job Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transport of waste in line with customer requirements. Loads may include loose, bailed, or skip-contained materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving bin trucks and skip trucks
• Carrying out daily/weekly vehicle checks in line with company policy
• Recording and reporting vehicle defects
• Completing collection and delivery targets
• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations
• Maintaining accurate written and electronic records
• Keeping the vehicle clean and presentable
• Communicating effectively with team members and customers
• Working flexibly to meet depot requirements
• Supporting and ensuring the safety of any drivers' mates/helpers
• Participating in required training

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• CPC and Tacho card
• Maximum of 3 points on licence
• Previous HGV driving experience (waste or similar industry preferred)
• Good knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance
• Strong communication and organisational skills
